GEAS has been an active conservation voice for many years at the national, state, and local levels. We have participated in many conservation actions in Southwest Idaho and even led the coalition of partners to create Blacks Creek Bird Reserve.
There are some instances in which GEAS advocates for changes to policy or action. Our leaders and members represent a well-educated, connected, and passionate group of people who will speak up against policies that may not be reasonable or justifiable in regards to our wildlife, environment, and our collective future. We approach advocate action from a scientific based view point and make recommendations where we believe we have the expertise to do so. We don't seek out opportunities to advocate contentious issues but nor do we ignore them when they need to be addressed.
