Upcoming Conservation Efforts

Council Rural Environmental Stewardship Project

The Council School District, the Payette Children's Forest, Council Parks board, Idaho Fish & Game, US Forest Service, and NRCS are working to create a create an outdoor classroom at a brand new 1-acre community fishing pond in Council.  This wonderful, unique partnership will create a new community resource while engaging hundreds of children in stewardship activities.  GEAS is happy to help this project incorporate bird education and recommendations to help create new bird habitat at the pond.

Urban Bird Habitat Program

The Urban Bird Habitat Program is a new program being developed by Golden Eagle Audubon that will help conserve, rehabilitate, or create bird habitat in Boise's urban core. The program will provide community members and groups the opportunity to learn, through hands-on events, about native plants, how to landscape for wildlife and pollinators, and most importantly why providing habitat in our urban areas is important.

Membership starts at just $20/year and supports our programs, education, conservation and advocacy work.
