Winter Bird Challenge

How many of SW Idaho’s bird species can you find this winter? Join us for a friendly competition - all ages and experiences welcome! Enter in one or both competitive categories: General Species Count or Photography.

There are two possible ways to win in each of our two categories. Whoever finds the most species in each category (general or photography) wins two tickets to GEAS’s annual banquet (a $120 value) on March 21st, 2020. If you find 50 species or more you will be entered into our monthly prize drawings.

Birds seen, heard, or photographed between December 1st, 2019 and February 29, 2020 in SW Idaho count towards your total.

Southwest Idaho includes: Ada, Boise, Canyon, Owyhee, Elmore, Gem, Payette and Washington counties.

Submit eBird checklists to dondi@goldeneagleaudubon.org. If you don’t know how to use eBird, we will show you how!

Any questionable sightings or unethical behavior reported will be resolved by the contest committee.

By participating in GEAS’s Winter Bird Challenge, you agree to follow ABA’s Principles of Birding Ethics (http://listing.aba.org/ethics/) and participate at your own risk.

You also agree to respect the decisions of the contest committee in the case of a dispute.

Thank you for your interest in this fun, new idea to get us all out birding more!

Good luck!
