Birding by Ear Class Series
Winter Bird Challenge
Join us in January for a socially distant community event! Challenge yourself to get outside, give yourself a break from the news and find some birds! All ages and experiences welcome! Enter in one or more categories: General, Photography, Audio.
How many species can you find in your neighborhood? Can you visit 3 new birding hotspots? How many species can you find on the weekends? Create the challenge that works for you!
Spend time outside, get together every week via Zoom to share stories and win prizes all while supporting Golden Eagle Audubon.
A Grand Prize will be awarded to the person with the most species in each category.
Birds seen, heard, photographed or recorded in January 2021 in SW Idaho count towards your total. Each species is worth 1 point.
Southwest Idaho includes: Ada, Boise, Canyon, Owyhee, Elmore, Gem, Payette and Washington counties.
Submit eBird checklists to firstname.lastname@example.org. All checklists must be submitted by February 1st, 2021 to qualify.
Any questionable sightings or unethical behavior reported will be resolved by the contest committee.
By participating in GEAS’s Winter Bird Challenge, you agree to follow ABA’s Principles of Birding Ethics (http://listing.aba.org/ethics/) and participate at your own risk.
You also agree to respect the decisions of the contest committee in the case of a dispute.
Thank you for participating in this COVID-safe community event and supporting Golden Eagle Audubon Society!
Membership starts at just $20/year and supports our programs, education, conservation, and advocacy work.
