Join us to raise funds for a great cause! We are excited to shake off the pandemic’s grip and finally host this annual event at the renowned, fully-accessible Riverside Hotel in Garden City.

We are thrilled to have Lauren McGough and likely her golden eagle Miles as our keynote speaker presenting, How to befriend an eagle: Hunting in partnership with eagles in Mongolia and America. Lauren lived with the nomadic peoples of Mongolia for two years as a Fulbright scholar and an anthropologist. She apprenticed under the local eagle masters, learning their ingenious animal-centric way of life and eagle training methods. She brought that knowledge back home where she practices this most ancient form of falconry to rehabilitate Golden Eagles in the United States.

You can learn more about Lauren and her work on her website, which includes videos like this one called, ‘The Female Falconers Rewriting Tradition’. Lauren was on 60 Minutes! Here’s the news story.

Food and Drink. All meals come with a salad, roll, starch, vegetable and dessert. There will be a full, no-host bar. The beef is sustainably raised and salmon is sustainably harvested. When you register, you will choose between the following three meal options:

1. Grass-finished, local Wagyu, sirloin beef from Wilsey Ranch

2. Wild salmon (salmon donated by C&G’s Wild Alaska Salmon)

3. Vegetarian spaghetti squash

In addition to our dynamic presenter and excellent food, we will have:

  • Door prizes - Everyone attending receives one door prize ticket, members receive an additional ticket and volunteers receive an additional ticket

  • An amazing silent auction - pick up some unique, beautiful bird art, secure a get-away trip, enjoy a basket of jam and much more!

  • A spirited live auction! The live auction features the chance to win, "A day flying and hunting with eagles with Lauren McGough".

The fun starts at 5:30 p.m. and goes until 8:30 p.m.

Tickets are $89 per person.

To pay by check, mail it to Golden Eagle Audubon, PO Box 8261, Boise Idaho 83707, along with who will be attending, their phone number and/or email, their meal choice and any special diet requests.

Additional donations may be used for scholarship tickets to the event for students or teachers, or will be used to support ongoing GEAS programs.

Proceeds from the event will support GEAS' mission of building an understanding, appreciation, and respect for the natural world in order to conserve and restore natural ecosystems for birds and other wildlife.
