Education is key to our mission of building an understanding, appreciation, and respect for the natural world. Golden Eagle Audubon provides educational opportunities for both youth and adults throughout the year.

From beginner, intermediate, to advanced, we provide meaningful classroom and field experiences for people of all ages to learn more about birds - their identification, life histories, and more! Other topic areas include conservation issues, broader habitat and ecology-related subjects, and ways to take action.

Upcoming Classes

Raptors of Southwest Idaho

Idaho has many fascinating raptors and this class will cover twelve species you are likely to find in southwest Idaho. We will provide tips on how to identify the juvenile and adult birds in flight and perched and where to find them in southwest Idaho.  The class also covers the habitat and behavior of each species. This class is taught by Golden Eagle Audubon volunteers. It’s free, everyone is welcome and no registration is required.

Request a Presentation or FieldTrip

We often partner with local libraries, Boise School District’s Community Education Program, Boise Watershed and many other organizations to offer programs.  If you represent an organization or group and are interested in a GEAS presentation or field trip, we’d love to hear from you!

Please note we ask that you make requests at least a month in advance and indicate if there is flexibility in scheduling dates. We do not require a payment for these services but a donation of $50 or more, by those who are able, is strongly encouraged to make GEAS’ important work possible into the future.
