Restoring habitat for birds and other wildlife.

The Treasure Valley Native Plant Network (NPN) is a partnership led by Golden Eagle Audubon in collaboration with many community partners, schools and universities with the aim to restore quality habitat for birds and other wildlife. NPN works together to collect, germinate and propagate native seeds to create banks of locally-adapted seedlings for planting at restoration sites around the Treasure Valley.

By the Numbers

Since 2017

  • 58,000 + locally-adapted seedlings produced

  • 42 native plant species

  • 2,000+ volunteers and 58+ community partners

  • Restoration occurring on 15+ sites, including 8 Important Bird Areas

The Native Plant Network is truly community conservation in action. Loss of habitat is the most persistent threat to birds and other wildlife. The plant species that Idaho birds are adapted to are declining and being replaced by weeds and other low-value ground cover. Learn more about why native plants are so important.

There are many ways to get involved—learn more about volunteering and partnerships below!

Volunteer

You can be part of a team that is restoring bird habitat right in your community.  Growing and nurturing wildlife-friendly plants is easy and makes a big difference!

The Native Plant Network provides an opportunity for everyone to become a community conservationist. Whether you’re an individual, scout leader, teacher, or organizational leader—we’d love to hear from you!

Partner with NPN

Are you working to restore public lands with native species? We invite you to join the NPN to collaborate with similar goals. We share ideas and resources to support one another. Our volunteer-grown and raised plants are at the center of our network. Partners can request plants in November to receive the following September for planting.

To join our partnership, please email our Stewardship Coordinator at dfails@goldeneagleaudubon.org
