November Monthly Program
Join Zoo Boise’s Director of Education, Tierney Ball, for an inside look at one of Africa’s most inspiring conservation success stories. This program will explore Gorongosa National Park in Mozambique, where Zoo Boise plays a key role in supporting community-based conservation, habitat restoration, and wildlife protection. Tierney will share stories and highlights from her recent trip, including an introduction to some of the incredible wildlife found in the park and surrounding areas. From vibrant bee-eaters to majestic elephants, discover how protecting birds and other wildlife in Gorongosa is helping safeguard an entire ecosystem.
Tierney Ball is the Director of Education at Zoo Boise, where she has been a staff member since 2013 and has led education programs since 2015. A Boise native, Tierney is passionate about connecting people to wildlife and inspiring
conservation action. While she doesn’t consider herself a dedicated birder, she has a deep appreciation for birds—especially penguins, her personal favorite. Her work has taken her from the classrooms of Zoo Boise to the savannas and wetlands of Mozambique’s Gorongosa National Park, where she experienced firsthand the impact of global conservation partnerships.
Join us on WEDNESDAY, November 19 at 6:30 at the Boise Hillcrest Library, 5246 West Overland Rd., Boise. This program is free and everyone is welcome. No registration required.
